Nursery Meals
Indigo Valley Nursery offers a home-made, healthy and nutritious daily menu for breakfast and lunch.
Our beautiful dining room is designed for the children to eat their meals in a correct dining environment. Meal times are very social experiences for the children and it is during the meal times that the children will learn many excellent behavioural qualities, such as sharing, patience, politeness, understanding and acceptance of others; plus of course the correct dining etiquette for their age groups.
The Start of the New Day – Breakfast
We understand it is often very difficult for children to rush through breakfast at home before arriving at the nursery, therefore, a healthy breakfast is offered to all the children in the dining room.
Breakfast time will allow your children to relax, enjoy breakfast and spend time interacting with the other children before starting their Nursery day.
The ‘hungry’ time of the day – Lunchtime
Lunch times are 11:00a.m for the babies and 11:30a.m for the toddlers and pre-school classes.
Indigo Valley Nursery offers a freshly prepared hot cooked lunch for all the children. The menu is displayed on the notice board in the Nursery Reception and available upon request at the reception desk.
Special Diets: Please be sure to inform us at the time of registration of your children’s special dietary requirements. It is very important your child is not offered foods, which he/she may be allergic to.
Lunch Boxes: If you choose to prepare your child meals from home, please pack the meal carefully in a clearly labelled plastic lunch box. The lunch box will be kept in your child’s bag until meal time.
After Lunch Snacks: Please provide a healthy afternoon snack for your child, as they like to snack again around 2:00p.m.
Afternoon Tea at 4-4:30p.m.: Sandwiches, Fruit, Yoghurt, Water, Milk, Juice, Crackers, Cheese, etc. is provided for the children who are registered for the extended day. However, the children also like to have their own little snacks from home at this time; such as fruit juice-poppers and little snacks.
Healthy Nutrition: We encourage only healthy diets for the children, therefore, please provide only good quality, low sugar-content snack foods. Nuts of any sort are not allowed in the Nursery due to the possibility of nut allergies.
Birthday Parties - All the children love to have their turn to enjoy their ‘Nursery Birthday’. Please refer to our Birthday Policies available at the Nursery Reception.
