Baby Care
Indigo Valley's baby care room caters for children aged two months to 18 months and is staffed by fully qualified nurses, operating a staff to child ratio of 1:3. The room is led by our Senior Nursery Nurse Ms. Bless, who has a great deal of experience in the organising and running of the baby room. Ms. Bless is assisted by our other Nursery Nurses.
We understand that babies have different routines at such a young age and often their needs are on demand. Bearing this in mind, all our baby activities are tailored around your child, in a stimulating environment that is always lots of fun - with plenty of cuddles and attention from our staff!
Our baby care room consists of two play areas, a dining area plus a changing and sleeping area.
The main play room is a warm 'home from home' environment, with a variety of textures, levels and surfaces. Low level shelving allows the babies to access an array of toys and books, as and when they wish, encouraging independence and an area for sensory exploration and 'messy play'!
Adjacent to the main play room is our 'Physical/Soft play area'- a place for climbing, rolling and jumping! This area is equipped with large soft play blocks, ramps, tents, tunnels and ball pools - an exciting and stimulating area for your baby to develop their gross motor skills and enhance their all over physical development.
Adjoining our playroom is a separate room for changing and sleeping, where each baby has their own drawer for nappies, wipes and creams and their own cot and bedding for resting periods throughout the day.
Our baby care staff follows a typical daily routine, which is discussed with the parents at an initial visit during the settling in period. This proves to be extremely beneficial and helps to keep the child settled into a regular routine.
At Indigo Valley, the child's day is all about fun and play, punctuated only by moments for eating and resting

Each child has a baby information sheet which is given to the parents for them to write in their child's daily routine and any other information the baby care staff might need to know from time to time. Each day the staff write a log for the child to inform parents as to how their baby's day has gone, including their sleep times and what food and milk they have consumed. This enhances good communication between staff and parents.
